Matavhela SS and Mutheiwana SS Learners in Limpopo provided with Tablets

Towards a vision of improving overall standard of education system both at the school level and national level, L&T Edu-Solutions has embarked on a mission to provide grade 12 learners in schools with tablets in order to facilitate learning in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic.The organization realized a need to embrace technology and extend its tutoring services online to be able to reach and assist learners with Mathematics and Physical science from the safety of their homes.

On the 28th of May 2020 L&T Edu-Solutions in collaboration with Rotangana Community Developers provided grade 12 learners at Matavhela Secondary School with tablets.

On the subsequent day the company in collaboration with DC Academy (PTY) LTD provided grade 12 learners at John Mutheiwana Secondary School with tablets. The learners can now access all study materials online and learn from home.

Glencore and L&T provided 40 tablets to learners at Tirelong Secondary School

The impact of COVID-19 pandemic took a serious toll on the education of learners, especially learners in rural and poor communities due to their lack of access to mobile devices that make online education possible. In light of this, L&T Edu-Solutions and the Western Mines Operations owned by Glencore Merafe Ventures purchased tablets for about 40 grade 11 and grade 12 learners to engage in online education.

Learners will be provided with online tutorials shared through WhatsApp. Learners are then linked with tutors who assist them work through the tutorial exercises and further given online tests via google forms to test their understanding of the work covered during the day.
